Memorial Day Weekend 2020

In gratitude for all who served and sacrificed, this video has been our way to remember.

“Sing Your Way Home” is a tribute to all those who have served and sacrificed.

We hope it showcases the courage and the loving sacrifice of every soldier who now defends or has ever defended our country. We also salute their families who gave up loved ones for months or even years, some who lost them forever.

If you have family or friends who have served or lost someone who served in our armed forces, consider sending them the link, in thanks.

Memorial Day Honors 2016

Since posting our video and recording of “Sing your Way Home” we have been asked to perform it for some special occasions over this past year. It is always well received and moving for us to sing. In gratitude for all who served and sacrificed, this is our way to remember.  We hope it will be a way for you to remember this Memorial Day too:

This video is a tribute to those in military service who often travel so far away from home and give up so much.

The song speaks to us about the simple but profound joy of belonging, of having a place to return to at the end of the day or the end of a journey. It reminds us that, at the end of every battle, there is a resting place where we are accepted and loved and missed.

We hope it showcases the courage and the loving sacrifice of every soldier who now defends or has ever defended our country. In it, we also salute their families who gave up fathers, daughters, aunts, husbands, mothers, wives, uncles, and sons, for months or even years, some who lost them forever.

You will find no marching bands or 21-gun-salutes in this work.  It is about something much deeper, more timeless, and much more intimate. It is about family and country. It is about the ties that bind. It is about love that endures great distances and much time apart. It is about home.

We sincerely hope you enjoy it.  If you have family or friends who have served or lost someone who served in our armed forces,  send them a link to our video. Consider adding a personal note of thanks to them for their hard work.

New Video For Memorial Day

Im_going_home

Fine Spirits has produced our first ever music video, “Sing Your Way Home,” just in time for the 2015 Memorial Day weekend.

This video, however, is not about Fine Spirits. It is a tribute to those in military service who often travel so far away from home and give up so much.

Please think about  sharing it with all of your email, Facebook, Twitter and other social media contacts so they can do the same for their loved ones.

Local Mom Tonya Rollins is raising funds for a double lung transplant. Last Saturday afternoon, Fine Spirits participated in the “Lungs For Tonya” Benefit Concert & Chili Cook-Off at First Christian Church in Anna, Tx.

We took the floor first and did a set of some of our favorites, including our new “Joy To The World (Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog)”, “Under the Boardwalk” and “It’s All Right.” Next, a local violinist, Erin Mansur, played for Tonya, and then The Joey James Band performed.

As we sang, the cook-off heated up. All around us, the crowd partook of the chili competition and sampled the sweets provided by the local ladies. The brownies and the coconut cream pie were particularly yummy.

Joey James invited us to join him in a song and we did an impromptu rendition of (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay.

If you missed the fun but would still like to help Tonya, her next fundraiser will be held May 30th. Click the image below to visit the Facebook page for the event. We will not be performing, but we encourage you to attend, or to donate on her Go Fund Me page.

New Songs A Success At “Dance Night”

Fine Spirits performed at Dance Night at the Depot in Allen, Tx on March 28, 2015.

Fine Spirits performed at Dance Night at the Depot in Allen, Tx on March 28, 2015.

We boogied down last night in Allen, Texas,  at Dance Night at the Depot, crooning some fine tunes. When we weren’t singing, we hit the dance floor a bit with our wives as Jeannie Clark Fisher serenaded everyone sweetly.

It was our first time to publicly perform three of our newest songs: “Happy Together,” “A Little Help From My Friends,” and “Joy To The World (Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog).”

If you missed us, be sure to catch us next week at the Tonya Rollins Benefit Concert and Chili Cook-Off in Anna, Tx as we help raise funds for her lung transplant.

February means our annual trip to Grand Prairie to audition for the National Anthem at Lone Star Park. The cameras caught us and some other local acts as we all did our best rendition, vying for a spot to sing The Star Spangled Banner at the horse races.

Performing at Lone Star Park has become a Fine Spirits tradition in recent years. Stay tuned to find out if and when we’ll be doing the honors this year!

If you live in McKinney and get the McKinney Courier-Gazette, you may have noticed some familiar faces in the paper when you read the morning news on Sunday. Fine Spirits made the front page! Our upcoming album release party on June 5th shared top billing with the newly proposed MISD budget. Students will be getting new Mac laptops, and we are throwing a party at Cafe Malaga.

The reporter, Chris Beattie, hung out with us at one of our rehearsals in Carl’s garage, and did a wonderful write-up about our group. On the paper’s website, Chris also included a video of us practicing the song “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Lone Star Park News Spot

What a beautiful day to make our annual trip down to Grand Prairie to audition to sing our National Anthem at Lone Star Park. In the past we were asked to sing on opening day for the Spring racing season.  We hope to get selected again.  It is a fun place to be on race day, with all the horses and hubbub.

While we were warming up in the uncommonly quiet courtyard area, a newsman smiled and said we “need more practice” and that we “better sing it again”.  They came over and set their cameras in front of us to sing once more.  With our warm up complete, Carl answered a few questions about us and we went in to our audition.

We all agreed that the 12 year old singer that went ahead of us (Liam), has a nice set of pipes.  A big sound from a small body.

We will let you know if we get selected to sing.
